Rent Control Framework Commences 1 April 2026

The procedural framework under the Housing (Scotland) Act 2025 takes effect from 1 April 2026. This enables local authorities to collect rental data and conduct rent condition assessments. The first assessment reports are due by 31 May 2027. No rent caps or designated control areas are currently in force.
